Congressman Walkinshaw believes that access to comprehensive reproductive health care—including contraception, IVF, abortion, prenatal care, and cancer screenings—is a fundamental right. In Congress, James will fight to protect reproductive freedom for every American, supporting federal legislation such as the Women’s Health Protection Act to safeguard abortion rights nationwide and defending Title X funding for family planning services. He will oppose any efforts to restrict access to contraception, IVF, or other reproductive care, and will champion policies that ensure equitable access to reproductive health services for all communities, regardless of income or location. James also understands the federal government can lead on these issues, which is why he has introduced the Family Building FEHB Fairness Act to require all FEHB plans to cover IVF services, supporting family-building benefits for federal workers.

Know Your Rights & Access Care

**Disclaimer: As we work to adapt this project to the realities of a new Administration, please be aware that some of the federal resources listed here, such as the reproductiverights.gov website, have already been removed, will soon be removed, or may be altered to contain misleading, biased anti-abortion information. Please be vigilant if you are utilizing these resources in the coming weeks. We will be back with additional details as soon as possible.**

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022, access to abortion services has varied substantially from state to state. Currently, Virginia is the only state in the South without a ban or extreme restrictions on abortion. As we face an unprecedented reproductive health care crisis nationwide, I will continue fighting to protect reproductive freedom across the country.

On a national, state, and local level, you have rights, and you have options for access to comprehensive reproductive health care, including abortion care. Do you have questions about those rights and options? See the relevant resources below.
