He has opposed cuts to the State Department and the Trump administration’s reckless decision to abolish USAID, recognizing that these agencies provide critical foreign assistance, respond to humanitarian crises, and advance U.S. leadership and values on the global stage. Earlier in his career, James helped Congressman Gerry Connolly pass the Global Health Security Act, which strengthens U.S. preparedness for pandemics, improves international health cooperation, and ensures the United States can respond quickly to global health emergencies. He will continue to advocate for robust funding for diplomacy, development, and global health programs that prevent conflict, combat pandemics, promote democracy, and protect human rights worldwide. James is committed to a foreign policy that combines strength with compassion, keeping the United States secure while helping those in need and maintaining our position as a global leader. |
